Bridge design
This task was focused on the outer structures of future pedestrian bridges which were part of  a renovation project in the city centre of Virovitica. The bridges lead to an old castle,  the main focus of the renovation - which will be repurposed as a museum of wood. The design relates to the city of Virovitica’s rich history of wood and furniture industry by showing the living aspect of wood - the story before it becomes material.

Drawing inspiration from the way trees grow, the interlacing of the fencing structure communicates the branching of trees -  in their crown and roots. The concept promotes recognizing wood as a living material which should be used and sourced responsibly. The structure is made from old resawn boards.
